The duties of our Speech therapists change from student to student, depending on their individual challenges. Our SLPs offer treatment and assessment and serve clients with differing needs.
For an educational team to provide complete and comprehensive services to students, there must be an occupational therapist contributing as part of the group. Occupational therapists help students partake in day to day activities that a student might be involved in. They ensure that students who need assistance can fully participate in a school setting and have an equal opportunity to succeed academically and socially.
Physical therapists assist students so they fully benefit from their educational program. They can assist with modifying physical environments to improve student access, suggesting accommodations to help students meet IEP and other goals, and informing school staff of various strategies to increase student participation.
Using their special skill set, a school psych acts as a liaison between parents, teachers, and administrators. Their collaboration is key for the implementation of school policies, treatment strategies, and community programs. School psychologists perform psychological assessments, create personalized intervention plans, monitor progress, and evaluate learning needs
Providing support for one of schools' biggest challenges, staffing.
